ABOUT

Hi, I’m Corinne…

A a 40-something Mama with three kids, three dogs, ten chickens, and a hands-on husband who together, we’re always still going to be figuring this parenting thing out. I’m also a Board-Certified Holistic Health Practitioner, Integrative Health and Mind Body Spirit Release Practitioner™ with a thriving practice focused on foundational health and identifying, understanding, communicating and releasing emotions that play a role in the manifestation of physical symptoms.

Life is kind of busy, but absolutely wonderful.

But all those billion things we mamas do – the birthday parties, nighttime teething, the sports shuffle, packing lunches –  whether they’re fun, hard, messy, challenging to my patience or turn me into a faucet of happy tears, they’re all life’s blessings and I’m extremely grateful for it all.

One of my blessing in my life is running The Pragmatic Parent. I started this website in 2015 after my third child was born as a way to leave behind a job I didn’t love and spend time with my family, while also financially supporting them. It was a place to share typical parenting challenges like tantrums, sleep regressions, teaching emotions and getting kids to nap.

In 2018 through some tough health journeys with one of my girls and separately with myself, I went back to school to not only understand the root causes of our health journeys, but become our own health advocates. Along the way to being a Board-Certified Holistic Health Practitioner and Integrative Health Practitioner, I became deeply interested in emotion and energy work and that’s now the basis of my own holistic practice.

Originally, The Pragmatic Parent was a place to share things my friends asked me about and then utilized, finding they were helpful for their own families.

My friends would call and ask what our routine was like so they could test it out.

They’d ask how to get their toddler to like vegetables or how we got our twins to sleep through the night.

They’d ask how I could stay so calm when my son was on the ground screaming.

Or what magic potion I had to get my kids to listen when I asked them to clean up.

So I started writing…

Overtime, it’s evolved to include more about teaching children about emotions – identifying, feeling, communicating, regulating, and understanding them. I also sprinkle in some foundational health topics that play into emotional regulation like food, sleep, environment, friendships, exercise.

I know you’re here for a reason.

  • You want to have a thriving, happy and connected family.
  • You want to be the best parent you can be.
  • You want your kids to finally sleep through the night, so you can too!
  • You want your kids to be healthy, happy, regulated little people who grow into exceptional human beings.
  • You want to learn how to stop yelling.
  • You want to find balance and have more fun days than tough ones.
  • You want to stop feeling burnt out and be happier.
  • You want to give your children experiences, not things.
  • You want to learn how to calm a tantrum before things go def-con 5.

I know how you feel, because I want those things too.

You’re not alone.

The thing is…

All those things you and I both want, don’t just happen overnight.

They take a lot of effort, consistency and equal parts patience, empathy and time.

I hope you find motivation, a some direction in your parenting journey at The Pragmatic Parent.
